Languages
Ridge View Secondary College offers Japanese as our Languages subject to Year 7 and 8 students.
Japanese Language students will practice writing the language using the three scripts Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. They will also roleplay cultural and social situations to practise their conversation and greeting skills.
As part of the cultural component of the program, students will be exposed to and participate in traditional cultural practices including calligraphy, greeting practices and origami. They will also have a chance to learn about popular culture such as Anime, Manga, music and modern life in Japan. It is envisaged that we will offer an annual Japanese Food Evening to celebrate our students’ learning
